Clown-centric horror is a hot commodity; 2 of the most engrossing films of 2016, Clown and 31, were pure hell for Coulrophobics. In 2017, we’re already got IT and Crepitus slated to bring the grease-painted terror, and we can now ad Circus Kane to the list. The trailer, below, looks like a potent mix of traditional evil-clown tropes, along with elements seen in Saw and The Belko Experiment (not to mention the No End House creepypasta). Have a look:
Official Synopsis: A reclusive circus master invites a group of social media stars to his house of haunts. Anyone who can make it out before being scared into submission will earn $250,000 – but the stars soon learn they are not only competing for money, but also fighting for their lives. Circus Kane is directed by Christopher Ray from a script penned by James Cullen Bressack and Sean Sellars; the film stars Jonathan Lipnicki, Mark Christopher Lawrence, and Sinjin Rosa.
Circus Kane will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May, followed by a DVD and VOD release via Uncork’d Entertainment. Stay tuned for additional details as they emerge.
