Even if you’ve avoided all the leaked images, Ridley Scott himself seems determined to drop all of Alien: Covenant’s surprises before his movie even hits theaters.
Warning: Below There Be Spoilers!
The hotly anticipated Alien-prequel/Prometheus-sequel will finally invade US Theaters on May 19th. Those with access to HBO, however, will get an unprecedented “First Look” in a 13-minute special set to air May 10th at 9:45 PM. The preview, below, makes it clear that we’ll be getting a potentially spoilerish look at the practical side of bringing Scott’s tale of interplanetary terror to life. Check out the trailer, which we first showed you back in April.
A second trailer was just dropped for HBO’s First Look and it answers one of fans’ biggest questions: What happened to Elizabeth Shaw (played by Noomi Rapace) after she and the android David (played by Michael Fassbender) left LV-223 for the Engineers’ home world. In the trailer, we get an extended look at David’s new laboratory; it includes a bisected Xenomorph egg and, more importantly, sketches of his experiments. While we still don’t know all the details, one thing is painfully apparent: Shaw is dead—or rather, the Shaw we know is dead. Whether or not she lives on in a new form remains to be seen.
Check out the latest trailer, synopsis, and poster for Alien: Covenant below.
