If you’re like me, you’re starting to seriously miss The Walking Dead. Fear the Walking Dead, the spinoff launched in 2015 and currently into its 4th season, has always been a poor substitute, in my opinion, lacking the emotional core that makes TWD such an engrossing and compelling experience. So even though we’re months away from the show’s October return, I’m in a Walking Dead state of mind—and I’ve got a killer fan theory to discuss.
Those familiar with both the TV series on AMC and the comic book series by Robert Kirkman have been hypothesizing a time jump and major character deaths coming in Season 8. While the TV series only loosely adheres to the structure of the comic, there are enough parallels to make conjecture irresistible. One of the most compelling theories I’ve heard in recent months suggests showrunners have already revealed the next characters to die in an unforgettable moment from Season 7’s premiere.

Besides the assassinations of Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), the most heart-wrenching moment of Season 7 Episode 1 was Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) fantasy of a Sunday dinner. It imagines a not-too-distant future when life returns to a state or normalcy; we see Rick at the head of a table with all of our favorite Alexandrians, enjoying a meal like a true family. It’s gut wrenching because it includes Glenn and Abraham, who are already dead, as well as Maggie’s (Lauren Cohan) unborn child. Someone grab me some tissues, please!
Check out the video below from ThatComedyCat; it explains what’s being called “The Sunday Dinner Theory” and, according to those who believe it, the seating arrangements actually reveals which characters will end up pushing daisies in Season 8. It’s not an airtight hypothesis, but there’s definitely something to it. Have a watch and let us know what you think in the Comments section.
Official Synopsis: A really interesting theory today! SPOILERS for The Walking Dead season 1-7!!!! After making this video I’ve seen a few comments about this theory now, really interesting to see! My mind will be blown if these deaths actually take place, make sure to check back to this video after season 8 so we can discuss if it was right! The fact that some of these characters have been speculated to die already really makes me think!
