While Hellraiser purist won’t be happy unless Doug Bradley plays Pinhead, open-minded franchise fans were pleasantly surprised by Hellraiser: Judgment, the latest straight-to-DVD installment of the franchise launched by Clive Barker in 1987. Paul T. Taylor aptly tackles the role of Hell’s High Priest as writer/director Gary J. Tunnicliffe added a slew of new sub-Cenobites, making great additions to previously established Hellraiser mythos.
There’s a hard-boiled detective/serial-killer subplot that’s more than just a bit similar to Se7en and a 3rd Act that packs a lot of action into a short amount of time, leaving some viewers scratching their heads at the film’s conclusion. If you were left with unanswered questions after watching Hellraiser: Judgment, our friends at Looper have you covered!
