The Walking Dead made a triumphant Season 7 return last Sunday, after being on hiatus since December. AMC’s zombie epic may have been in a slump following the ultra-violent season premiere and what many considered a depressing story arch, but the show is back in prime form! In Episode 9, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and company are now making specific plans for a war with The Saviors, and the Alexandrians met a new group of survivors.
But the most memorable moment for Sunday’s episode was when Rick and Michonne (Danai Gurira) mowed down a herd of walkers with a cable strung between two cars. It was a bloody brilliant moment that fans won’t soon forget! So how did producers plan out such a complex and terrifying sequence? With storyboards that’s how!
For those outside “the industry”: A storyboard is a graphic organizer in the form of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence. (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storyboard)
