American Horror Story fan favorite and series regular Sarah Paulson made waves recently for excitedly proclaiming she’d like to play Donald Trump in the upcoming, election-themed 7th Season of FX’s megahit. But if she doesn’t land that role, she’s got her eyes on another member of Trump’s cabinet: Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway.
“I’d love to play Kellyanne Conway,” Paulson said. “First of all, where is she? We haven’t seen her in a couple weeks. What’s going on? … She was everywhere. We could not get her to shut up. And now, where is she? … Don’t get me wrong. I’m appreciating the silence, the quiet, but I am curious. That’s an American horror story for you: What happened to Kellyanne Conway?”
Conway has been a lightning rod for controversy; Trump’s former campaign manager has been lambasted for insulting women, hocking Ivanka Trump’s jewelry from the White House, and sitting with her feet on a couch in the oval office. She’ll probably be best remembered for (perhaps inadvertently) coining the phrase “Alternative Facts”.
Fans have been scratching their heads since AHS showrunner Ryan Murphy announced last February that Season 7 was inspired by the recent US presidential election. So far, cast members confirmed to participate (besides Paulson) include Denis O’Hare, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, and Cheyenne Jackson. It was also recently announced that newcomer Billy Eichner had joined the cast in a role connected to Paulson’s character.
