After teasing us with news of a crossover event to unite the worlds of The Walking Dead with its sister/spinoff series Fear the Walking Dead, producers revealed the character who will be making the transition. Morgan (played by Lennie James) will be a major character on Fear the Walking Dead for Season 4 in 2018.
While fans assumed the crossover character would be shown on a different, earlier timeline than The Walking Dead, something showrunner Scott Gimple said on Talking Dead is notable: “Even though Morgan is going to be featured on Fear, he has a lot of story left on The Walking Dead. Morgan’s arc on The Walking Dead Season 8 positioned him for the story on Fear. It was also important to see Fear‘s world and characters through new yet familiar eyes.”

This could mean that Season 4 of Fear will take place after a time-jump that will see both series existing simultaneously. In such a scenario, we can expect Morgan to leave Rick & company at the end of The Walking Dead Season 8. If Morgan will appear in the past, it’ll explain what he was doing between his first meeting with Rick in Season 1 and his return in Season 4. It also means that the character will most likely die at the end of this current season.
Time will tell! What are your theories about worlds will collide when Morgan joins the character of Fear the Walking Dead? Let’s discuss!
