In the fall of 2016, creepy clown sightings reached epidemic proportions across the US and UK, a phenomenon we dubbed the Clownpocalypse. One of the few lurkers who made more than a single appearance was Gags the Clown, a grease-painted fiend spotted on multiple occasions throughout the town of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Part of what made Gags so easy to document, however, was the fact that he’s part of a film project.
After Gags was established as a certifiable villain, filmmakers Adam Krause and John Pata let the cat out of the bag; the announcement came via Gags’ official website:
He’s back! Gags first set the internet on fire this past summer with a handful of grainy cell phone pictures and simultaneously resurrected the worldwide phenomenon known as ‘clown roaming.’ Now, writer/director Adam Krause and Script 4 Sale Productions has teamed up with The Line Film Co. and Head Trauma Productions to give Gags the feature film treatment.
