Not only will Laurie Strode have a daughter in the new Halloween reboot—she’ll have a granddaughter! We previously reported that Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to reprise the role she made iconic in 1978’s Halloween, with Judy Greer playing her daughter. Late last night, we got word that actress Andi Matichak has beaten out a slew of competitors to snag the role of the youngest Strode.
This is a huge get for Matichak, a Chicago native who turned heads as a model and trained with well-known Meisner instructors Kathryn Gately and Nina Murano. Matichak has appeared on such TV series as Blue Bloods, Underground, 666 Park Avenue and Orange Is the New Black. On the feature side, she recently wrapped the sci-fi movie Replicate with Calum Worthy, Joel Courtney and Cam Gigandet, and she appeared alongside Paul Reiser and Molly Shannon in the indie film Miles.
