Straight up, I’m not a gamer; I’m a Horror Freak. But everything I’ve seen involving Friday the 13th The Game from IllFonic and Gun Media, currently completing beta-testing, makes me want to put down my pen and immerse myself in what looks like an unparalleled survival horror experience. I’ve just seen the latest trailer for the game, which introduces Tom Savini’s new version of Jason. Savini is, of course, the FX mastermind who did the original Jason prosthetics in the original Friday the 13th—along with too many other amazing and seminal movies to list.
Check out the trailer, followed by hi-res images of Savini’s new Jason below.
Official Synopsis: This trailer highlights a new song from Crazy Lixx (“Killer”), and features a host of new brutal kills and a first look at Jason models from Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan, and Friday the 13th Part 9: Jason Goes to Hell.
New version of Jason Voorhees is created exclusively for Friday the 13th: The Game by the legendary horror icon himself, Mr. Tom Savini. This is the first Jason Voorhees created by Tom Savini since Friday the 13th Part 4: The Final Chapter (1984), and the first new Jason in the series since the 2009 film reboot. At the end of Friday the 13th Part 9: Jason Goes to Hell, Jason gets drug into the depths of hell, seemingly gone forever. This Jason model reflects Tom Savini’s interpretation of what might have happened to Jason after this epic event.
