Master of Horror Stephen King holds the world record as the author who’s had the most film adaptations made of his works. While many are considered near-masterpieces (The Shining, Carrie, and 2017’s IT, for example) others were only mediocre. Worse, many are flat out awful, proving quantity is never a measure of quality.
The folks at Money Pod have put together the infographic below: Stephen King in Film: The Hits and Misses. It’s an engrossing at-a-glance examination of over 3 decades worth of cinematic history. The infographic was made before 2017, so we’ll have to wait to know exactly where IT, Gerald’s Game, and 1922 rank. Still, it’s an illuminating exploration for hardcore Stephen King fans and casual connoisseurs alike. Enjoy!
Official Description: No author has seen his work made into more movies than Stephen King, with over 50 films originating from his writings. However, not every movie was a success.
