Several years before her death in a fiery car crash, 1960’s starlet Jane Mansfield is rumored to have had a torrid affair with Anton Szandor LaVey, the founder and high priest of the First Church of Satan. It was a collision of Hollywood excess and subversive debauchery at a time when America’s Hippy movement was going south quickly, paving the way for the exploits of Charles Manson and his Family.
From the producers of The Shining documentary Room 237 (P. David Ebersole and Todd Hughes) comes Mansfield 66/67, an unprecedented window into the chaotic final years of Mansfield’s life with special attention paid to her relationship with LeVey. The film will also separate truth from myth when it comes to salacious details surrounding her fatal car crash, and whether she was the victim of a curse cast by a heartbroken LeVey after she married.
