Horror Freaks have more than just Stranger Things Season 2 to look forward to on Netflix. The Hollywood Reporter was first to report the streaming giant has ordered a 10-episode series based on Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House. The supernatural chiller has been adapted into film twice (once in 1963 and again in 1999) but this will mark the first time the story’s being given the series treatment.
The show will be directed by up-and-coming Master of Horror Mike Flanagan, who has helmed Oculus, Hush, and the upcoming Gerald’s Game (also a Netflix original).
The untitled adaptation joins an ever-expanding list of Netflix original dramas that includes House of Cards, Bloodline, Sense8, Narcos, Stranger Things, The Get Down, The Crown, The OA and the recently launched 13 Reasons Why, as well as the Marvel slate that includes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the upcoming Defenders.

Official Synopsis: When Eleanor, Theo, and Luke decide to take part in a sleep study at a huge mansion they get more than they bargained for when Dr. Marrow tells them of the house’s ghostly past. The film stars Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Owen Wilson.
