We’re exactly a week away from the US release of Ridley Scott’s hotly anticipated Alien-prequel/Prometheus-sequel, Alien: Covenant. The film dropped yesterday in the UK and has already been screened at press events nationwide, which means word is getting out regarding what fans can expect. In a nutshell: Covenant is being considered a vast improvement over Prometheus, though perhaps not the wholehearted return to the horror of 1979’s Alien, which many were hoping for.

Official Synopsis: Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members (Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup) of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise. The mysterious world soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien life-form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival.
