We have a source!
As far as the production of Jeepers Creepers 3 goes, it’s been somewhat difficult separating the truth from the rumors from the misinformation, an exercise not unlike trying to create a cohesive image from a puzzle missing a bunch of pieces. After publishing my article yesterday, where I attempted to get to the bottom of it all, I was contacted by a source close to the production who helped filled this information vacuum.
We can now confirm what was yesterday only an assumption: The most prominent “Official Synopsis” for Jeepers Creepers 3 that has been bandied about for the better part of a year does not reflect the film that was made. Here’s what everyone thought they would be seeing:
Trish Jenner (Gina Phillips) is now a mother of a teenage son named Darry, named after the brother she lost 23 years ago. Trish has a recurring nightmare where her son suffers the same fate as her brother did, killed by the Creeper. Determined to prevent this from happening, Trish, who is now a rich and powerful woman, sets out on a final quest with Jack Taggart Sr. and Jr. to end the Creeper’s reign of terror once and for all.

Here’s the synopsis for the film that was actually shot:
Taking place on the last day of the Creeper’s twenty-three-day feeding frenzy, as the skeptical Sergent Tubbs teams up with a task force hellbent on destroying the Creeper for good. The Creeper fights back in gory glory as its enemies grow closer than ever before to learning the secret of its dark origins.
In addition to our source, this was confirmed yesterday by Bloody Disgusting, the most trusted source for horror news worldwide. Their source also confirmed our previous speculation that JC3 will take place between Parts 1 & 2, making it a prequel, technically. All 3 films, therefore, are about different scenarios that took place during a single 23-day period.
We can also confirm that Gina Phillips is not the star of the film in any significant way; her appearance is described as a small cameo at the very end of the film.
We also noted yesterday that Meg Foster was not listed on JC3’s IMDB page, leading us to declare her MIA. Our source assures us, however, the Foster is definitely in the film and her role is important. He also explained why the photo of Foster on the set of JC3, posted in February, was taken down:
“The reason Meg Foster’s photo was removed from Instagram was because the company didn’t want any photos of the cast behind the scenes online yet until official promotion begins.”
The most exciting revelation for fans of the Creeper, though, is that JC3 will not be the end of the franchise (if producers have their way):
“The ending will set up a sequel and/or a series.”
Since the controversy surrounding writer/director Victor Salva’s shameful past is only likely to intensify, many horror fans (myself included) are hoping the convicted sexual felon will pass the property on to a new team of writers and directors. His involvement has been a distraction (appropriately so) and a detriment to the property. We need some fresh blood to take things over for the Creeper’s next feeding cycle! Just my two pennies.
