Citizens of Hawaii were severely rattled this weekend when a warning was accidentally transmitted warning of an imminent ballistic missile attack. Though the danger was nonexistent, the fear and pandemonium it inspired were genuine.
Unbeknownst to most, there’s a whole subculture on YouTube dedicated to creating faux EAS (Emergency Alert System) announcements. Though designed to look and sound authentic, they often warn against unimaginable events like impending meteor impact, super-volcano eruptions, and even demonic invasions from Hell!

The EAS below by YouTuber Joshua Frampton warns residents of the UK and Ireland that a black hole has been detected just outside our solar system—and is expanding exponentially. With under 11 minutes until the Earth is consumed, a calm, computer voice attempts soothe millions of viewers facing their last moments of life.
