We’ve been following the long-gestating, turbulent production of Jeepers Creepers 3 since the project was first announced in 2016. The last big revelation we got was that Gina Phillips (who starred as Trish in the first Jeepers Creepers) is not the star of the upcoming third installment. In fact, the synopsis that had been attached to the film for many years is no longer accurate in the slightest. Jeepers Creepers 3 is not Jeepers Creepers: Cathedral, a film that takes place 23 after the events of Jeepers Creepers 2.
Jeepers Creepers 3 is something of an anomaly, but reports that the film is a prequel are also inaccurate; it takes place during the same 23-day feeding cycle as Parts 1 & 2, specifically the 2 days between The Creeper’s kidnapping of Darry (Justin Long) and the events that took place on and around a school bus. Writer/director Victor Salva explains exactly what’s going on in the video below.
[For a summary of Salva’s criminal past and why many horror fans are choosing to boycott Jeepers Creepers 3, follow the link at the bottom of the article.]
We still don’t have a trailer, but word on the street is Jeepers Creepers 3 looks to follow in the tradition of the first 2 films with a Labor Day Release (meaning we can probably look forward to seeing this movie in September). Check out the actual synopsis below.
Official Synopsis: Taking place on the last day of the Creeper’s twenty-three-day feeding frenzy, as the skeptical Sargent Tubbs teams up with a task force hellbent on destroying the Creeper for good. The Creeper fights back in gory glory as its enemies grow closer than ever before to learning the secret of its dark origins.
The film features Meg Foster and Jonathan Breck.
