The latest found footage style trailer for Ridley Scott’s hotly anticipated Alien-prequel/Prometheus-sequel, Alien: Covenant, trades sophisticated horror for low-brow humor… and I like it! In yet another “letter home”, crewmember Tennessee, played by Danny McBride, says goodbye to his little brother before entering into years-long cryo-sleep. The colorful character reveals his checkered past to Weiland Corp., including a violent confrontation with a police horse. Before signing off, he tells his little bro that he looks forward to seeing how big his dick gets while he’s off pioneering.
Think I’m joking?
Alien: Covenant invades US Theaters on May 19th, and we can probably expect new promos to drop daily between now and then! Peep the trailer below, and check back often for additional Covenant news as details emerge. And tell us what you think about Tennessee’s video letter in the Comments section!
Official Synopsis: Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ‘Alien’ with ‘Alien: Covenant’, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with ‘Prometheus’ — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
