There was a Crooked Man; he walked a crooked mile; and when he got his own feature film; all the horror fans did smile!
The demon nun Valak may have been the unexpected star of The Conjuring 2, one of the scariest films of 2016 (earning that character a spinoff currently filming in Eastern Europe), but The Crooked Man played by Javier Botet was also a scene-stealer. Now, the tall, thin, grinning menace is getting his own spinoff, and we couldn’t be more excited!
The Conjuring franchise continues to expand, with New Line getting to work on a Conjuring 2 spinoff based around the character of the Crooked Man. Mike Van Waes has been hired to pen the script from a story by James Wan, who serves as the chief architect of the Conjuring universe.

Crooked and The Nun join Annabelle as characters from The Conjuring universe who have gotten their own films. Annabelle: Creation, the second film featuring the diminutive devil doll, hits US Theaters on August 11th.
