It’s a golden era for horror on TV. In the last few weeks, there’s been a ton of excitement over returning series (like American Horror Story and The Walking Dead) as well as new TV shows based on classic horror movies (like The Exorcist and Wolf Creek). But an original, untested show is also garnering its fair share of buzz: Channel Zero: Candle Cove, a six-episode series, premieres tonight on Syfy. Early reviews have been positive, meaning this is definitely a show Horror Freaks will want to investigate.
Official Synopsis: Mike Painter (Paul Schneider, “Parks and Recreation”) returns to the hometown he left as a kid only to relive the happenings of years ago when his brother was one of five children murdered in a case that was never solved. Old memories return to the surface when one mother’s child goes missing after mentioning that she had been watching CANDLE COVE, an eerie children’s puppet show he used to watch around the time of his brother’s murder. Although others remember watching this show, they are startled by the realization that it never truly existed and they had been staring at TV static.
Based on Kris Straub’s infamous creepypasta short story, Channel Zero: Candle Cove airs tonight at 9 pm on Syfy.
I’ll be watching. Will you?
