I’ve got to admit, I was confused about the status of the third installment of the Jeepers Creepers franchise. Excitement late 2015’s announcement that Jeepers Creepers: Cathedral was about to begin filming in Vancouver was tempered by backlash over director Victor Silva’s past criminal conviction. I assumed, however, that filming had continued (somehow); a tweet from producer Stan Spry on April 9th (below) seemed to indicate everything was more or less on track:
@landon_mcminn it is not cancelled. Producers are working on the domestic distribution deal

Apparently not, as Bloody Disgusting just announced that JC3 is only now returning to pre-production with filming planned in Louisiana:
Brad Miska reported: I was able to exclusively confirm that pre-production is currently underway on the sequel, which I am hearing will now film in Louisiana instead of Vancouver, Canada. Victor Salva is still in the director’s chair with filming scheduled to begin next month. While we are unsure if any of the casting has changed, before last year’s abrupt shut-down I had told you guys that Gina Philips will be reviving her role of Trish, the surviving sibling in the first Jeepers Creepers. I also heard that the Creeper’s van, featuring the “BEATNGU” license plate, will play a major role.
Color me perplex! Obviously, we’ll keep you posted as addition details emerged. In the meantime, check out the video below of Creeper actor Jonathan Breck’s audition tape. Even without makeup and prosthetics, he manages to evoke loads of spine-tingling dread!
