Blumhouse is really working to deliver the greatest horror available on a commercial level. And not only are they pumping out big budget blockbuster affairs, they’re now focusing their energies at more loyal, dedicated fans with some inventive ideas.
Broadcast using Twitter’s Periscope app on October 29, 2015, Blumhouse delivered the short film, Fifteen. The flick had its debut in front of thousands of horror fans.
Remarkably, the project was completely live. The idea for the film was developed by director Michael Gavin Booth (The Scarehouse) and Ryan Turek (Blumhouse Productions). The film starred Neil Napier (Helix), Sarah Booth, Hannah Kat Jones, Paula Jean Hixson, and Alastair James and managed to go off without a hitch.
What’s especially cool is the fact that now fans can actually check out the film in its entirety. In fact we’ve actually got the film attached for you below! Don’t hesitate to watch it, it’s a surprisingly entertaining affair with a few fine performances in wait.
Here’s hoping Blumhouse attempts something similar once more in the future. With some heavier promotion this concept could conceivably catch serious fire.
Synopsis: The film takes place on the night of October 29th, when two roommates are getting ready for a Halloween party they are hosting. A serial killer, nicknamed “Truman,” is broadcasting his bloody exploits to the masses via the Periscope app. Tonight he’s picked the wrong house to mess with.
