There’s a report coming out of Bloody Disgusting about Dimension secretly shooting a follow-up to 2011’s Children of the Corn: Genesis. They also point out that this comes on the heels of the new Hellraiser movie that’s been hastily put into production. They’re both horror franchises owned by Dimension and both Children of the Corn:Genesis and the horribly rushed Hellraiser: Revelations both came out around about the same time. Obviously the motive here is fulfilling the requirements to keep hold of the rights to these properties, not to make good movies.
So that doesn’t sound great however is that wacky horror filmmaker John Gulager who is responsible for the Feast trilogy and Piranha 3DD. Hopefully he is able to bring some of his rather unique sensibilities to the proceedings.
Also for some fun, check out this weird French poster for the original film!
