When Alien: Covenant arrives on Blu-ray and DVD this Tuesday, a slew of extras will answer burning questions that have been vexing fans since Prometheus boggled minds back in 2012. One of the simplest yet most enduring riddles fans have attempted to unravel is whether or not there are female Engineers, or if they are all asexual.
Regular readers of Horror Freak News will remember that last March, I thought I saw a breast in the Alien: Covenant poster featuring Engineers and Xenomorphs in an orgiastic tangle. Not everyone agreed; some saw an ordinary male pectoral muscle while others thought it was a Xeno dome. Have a look:
Whether or not there is a female Engineer in the Alien: Covenant poster is now inconsequential in our quest for answers regarding the species’ gender dynamics. One of the extras on the Covenant Blu-ray gives us an extensive tour of David’s (Michael Fassbender) laboratory; a sketch pinned to a wall clearly shows an Engineer with recognizable female anatomy [Featured Image].
